David Knudtson 1948-2018

PostThu Mar 15, 2018 5:14 pm

Grapevine Video have just made the sad announcement that their frequent accompanist David Knudtson has passed away. David's organ scores for Grapevine releases were always top notch and will be greatly missed. An obituary is at the link below.

Horrible news. :'-(

I don't know David but I have enjoyed many of his scores on Grapevine's releases. A great talent.

Sad news. Very diverse talent.

Really cherish his scores on several restored films on disc.

I was fortunate to know Dave many years ago. When I was a film student at Moorhead State, Dave provided incredible organ scores for the movies we saw in my film history classes. Birth of a Nation, The Scarlett Letter, The Gold Rush, The General. At the Fargo Theater, I saw The Phantom of the Opera with Dave on the organ. Amazing talent. He loved movies. RIP.
