Fundraiser for theatre organ repair

PostSun Jan 29, 2017 12:12 pm

The Temple Theatre in Meridian, MS is home to a Robert Morton theatre organ. The present owner had some of the organ pipes in storage for repair/replacement, but some thieves stole most of them (probably for scrap value, which they likely found to be much less than planned). Now there is a GoFundMe page to raise the $15K to repair the organ.
I've been to the theatre several times to hear concerts on the organ, including once on their 50th anniversary where it accompanied Harold Lloyd's Speedy. It is a magnificent instrument.
The fundraiser page is at https://www.gofundme.com/templetheatre. Any help, either money or spreading the word, would be greatly appreciated. Our town has 40,000 people, many under poverty level. We likely can't do this alone.

Thanks, Clarence
