2 Questions about music for the Rarebit Fiend

PostThu Apr 21, 2011 10:53 am

Besides the "Brooklyn Cake Walk" aka "The Rarebit Fiend" by Thurban, what other music did Edison films supply/recommend to accompany the film - since the Smithsonian Folkways recording of that number is about 2 1/2 minutes - I assume there was other music, I've not seen the new release of avante gard films from a few years back that contains this with other authentic scores.

If you have accompanied the film yourself with other period scores what did you find worked well?

Many thanks for any help!
