Celebrating G. M. Anderson’s birthday
THE SON OF A GUN (1918, Golden West) G. M. Anderson
made an attempt at a comeback with a series
of films for his Golden West Producing Company,
The Son of a Gun being his second of three made
in Glendale, California. If he’d made features of this
quality in Niles he would have been assured of continuing
success, and the productive days of the Niles
Essanay studio might have been extended.
Preceded by shorts:
BRONCHO BILLY'S CHRISTMAS DINNER
(1911, Essanay 35mm) Gilbert M. Anderson, Edna Fisher
and Arthur Mackley
THE LUCKY DOG (1921, Amalgamated Producing)
Stan Laurel, Oliver Hardy
