NADA MÁS QUE UNA MUJER
(Nothing More Than a Woman)
(1934) Directed by Harry Lachman

In the 1930s Fox made several Spanish-language films for export including Nada Más Que Una Mujer. Shot by the legendary Rudolph Maté, the film stars world-renowned Argentinean actress Berta Singerman as a cabaret entertainer involved in a star crossed love affair. Singerman only made one other film (believed lost) but here exudes all the allure of Garbo or Dietrich.
Producer: John Stone. Story: Larry Evans. Screenplay: Miguel de Zárraga, Enrique Jardiel Poncela. Cinematographer: Rudolph Maté. Cast: Berta Singerman, Alfredo del Diestro, Juan Torena, Luana Alcaniz, Carmen Rodriguez. Presented in Spanish dialogue with English subtitles. 35mm, 81 min.

NO DEJES LA PUERTA ABIERTA
(Don't Leave The Door Open)
(1933) Directed by Lewis Seiler

Vaudeville headliner Rosita Moreno and composer/singer Raul Roúlien pair up in this light-hearted and slightly racy romantic comedy produced by Fox. Catchy songs punctuate the story of a young, recently married wife who suspects her husband of infidelity and decides to have a fling or two of her own while on a cruise from New York to Havana.
Based on a play by Austen Allen. Screenplay: Paul Pérez, José López Rubio. Cinematographer: L. William O'Connell. Cast: Raúl Roulien, Rosita Moreno, Mona Maris, Jorge Lewis, Romualdo Tirado. Presented in Spanish dialogue with English subtitles. 35mm, 76 min.

Preservation funding for both films provided by: The AFI/NEA Film Preservation Grants Program and Robert G. Dickson.
Special thank you to: Robert G. Dickson.
