The Stanford Theatre is showing Paramount movies that played there originally between 1930 and 1935 through April 1. The program includes a number of rarer films and includes a cartoon in the weekend programs. They had showings the past 3 weekends but will have 3 double bills a week. Tuesdays-Sundays, starting Thursday.

Wow! What a treat! So many rare films being shown. Wish I lived on the West Coast.

Good lord, what a line-up! If I lived in that neck of the woods, I'd be there every night!

I went to see 'Her Wedding Night' with Clara Bow and it was an AMAZING print! The film is a silly (but cute) bedroom farce and Charles Ruggles steals the show.

HER WEDDING NIGHT is a classic and should be better known. Clara gives a great performance and there is the right amount of Charlie Ruggles. The art deco sets and gowns are gorgeous too!

For some unknown reason to me there are some rights issues with two of Clara Bow's talkies: Her Wedding Night and Kick In. Her other talkies are available in some format (bootleg and other). I have never seen Her Wedding Night but I did see Kick In at the Film Forum several years ago. The film had recently been restored and was in pristine condition. It's a shame that these two gems aren't available to the public.
