Vintage French FoH stills of Universal Horrors

PostMon Jul 17, 2017 1:08 pm

I'm selling on eBay 3 sets of French front-of-house stills.
They are "vintage" as I got them more than sixty years ago, when I was a teenage moviegoer.
During the German occupation, it was impossible to watch American movies so, after WW2, a lot of them were released belatedly in this country. As an example, "Frankenstein Meets the Wolf Man", produced in 1942 and released in 1943 in the US, was only shown in 1954 in French provinces, and only in 1956 in Paris. So, these FoH stills are the French originals.
They are real photographs, on strong paper, larger than the 8x10 press stills that you have in America, and were used as publicity materials (like the US lobbies)by the cinemas.
All of them are exceedingly rare and I never saw them in Parisian movie shops after the mid-Fifties.
