Looking for 2 movies please

PostFri Dec 22, 2017 3:40 pm

Hi!

I'm looking for a very long time for the following 2 TV movies:

The Three Musketeers from 1960 with Mark Lenard and Maximillian Schell
The Shoemaker's Holiday from 1938 with Wendy Attenborough

I'm still looking for the 2 movies for years with no luck at all. I have asked a lot of people about it but no one could help me at all.

Maybe someone can help me here or knows where I can find it?

Any help is highly appreciated and I would be very grateful for any help.

Thanks a lot in advance !!

Both of these look really really really impossible. Only some other "family classics" installments just about seem to be there if you really try hard.

Pity, would have been fun to see Vincent Price reprise the role of the cardinal, again. CBS may or may not still have a copy of it, that's impossible to tell. Tiniest of hopes is to wait for a 16mm copy to turn up.

And the BFI doesn't seem to know anything about the UK film.

Sounds like the sort of thing that Alpha would have, if it's out of copyright.

Ok. This forum here was my last hope to find them :?

I once had a copy of the three musketeers. But a few years ago my external HD with my complete Vincent Price collection was damaged. And all was gone :( . To refind these titles is extremly difficult.

Most of the people I contacted still had the titles but are not willing to trade or sell them because I'm Austria. One promised me to give me the three musketeers but suddenly his external HD has a corrupt error.

Pity, I used to swap right across borders all the time. What if they can simply use dropbox or something?

yeah. that would be the easierst way. But most traders only give the demanded titles away when you still have one they are looking for. most of them made no compromises is meant if you don't have what I'm looking for you get not the title you want. so I just gave up to ask in such forums. I once asked one for trading but the person refused because the postage was too much to send from US to Austria. But the other way is, that postage from Austria to US is much higher

I used to send discs just the cheapest way possible, as normal letters. Figured I could always send again if they got lost. But that was never necessary.
Been a while since I had to do that. These days, sending the files is easier.

Yeah, some collectors are like that. They use scales or something. If someone I'd talked to earlier loses all his stuff in a crash, I hope I'll be more sympathetic than that.

well I don't give up hope that one day I can find what I lost on my Vincent Price Collection. I still miss a lot. Also have bought a few things but it's the same like with the traders. Most of them still don't react at all

To state the obvious, a portable drive is a drive that you can carry; and anything you can carry, you can drop.
I feared this so much that I set up a home file server (on a RAID1 = hard disk failure protected) because I couldn't keep burning DVDRs (which eventually expire too). But if my house burns down, I still loose everything.

Sometimes a hard disc is not totally gone, but more like a book that looses its binding; the pages are still there, if you rearrange them again. Maybe your friend is lucky and can recover the contents?

By now I've become curious so I hope you manage to find it. There must still be some VP stuff left to trade; how about BBC interviews (Frost/Parkinson)?

yes there's a lot of stuff to trade (eg. Danny Kaye, Dean Martin, Johnny Carson, etc). I only had to find the people who are willing to trade it and that's the main problem for me. :(

He has many films with this title. Call to find out if he has the 1960 version.

He lists Tabu/Taboos Around the World [the 1963 film] 4 times - PAL, SECAM, VHS, and DVD-R. Maybe he is out of stock?

It was a TV program from 1938? Well that was a waste of time then.

If I'd realized I could have saved you the trouble of contacting them. There was no technology in existance back then to record any TV broadcast, except for some extremely experimental ideas and fragments lasting only seconds.

Here is one of the tapes that was mentioned, and it can be seen right now. It might be blocked in some areas.

Too bad that part of the IMDB was abolished. :(
