La madrugada (1929)

PostSat Jun 03, 2017 6:10 pm

The composer of this tango was Emilio Iribarne who was under contract with the Fox Film Corporation for a decade writing musical themes for the release of their films in Argentina. Most of those melodies were recorded by the most popular orchestras of the days. This particular tango was actually recorded when the sound film revolution was starting in Buenos Aires although Fox did not presented films with a soundtrack until the following year; however, whether this melody is associated to a movie or not, I don't know.

The arrangement was written for Canaro by Luis Riccardi who, besides giving the first violin some variations in the end, also kept for himself some piano variations for his left hand.
