"TV in Public".

The subject line is a statement director Quentin Tarantino made in 2012 about
the state of movie exhibition. He disapproved of the digital system being used
by theaters. He would most likely be against the next step in exhibition:

Although these have been around for at least a year (they are currently
installed in Asia and Europe) I don't know if there are any in the U.S..
These screens eliminate the need for a projection booth.

I really doubt that these are cheaper than normal digital projection. And if they are like screens at stadiums, they are likely to have small malfunctions that cause lines or empty blocks on the screen.

Is this the one that costs from $500,000 to $800,000?

With cinemas becoming smaller and smaller and the screen becoming more and more like a television - it's no wonder people stay home and watch films in their home cinemas or on large TV sets. What on earth is the difference?

Give me the old days - when cinemas were a decent size and you got value for money! Why, we had the orchestra, organ and a full programme on the first half!

:D
