Ingagi (1930) Soundtrack

PostSat Feb 01, 2014 9:05 am

Just wanted to let folks know I've uploaded 7 of the 8 reels of the Ingagi Vitaphone soundtrack discs to teh YouTube. While we still can't see this exploitation classic, these do give a pretty good idea what it was like. Sadly, I didn't get the all important Reel 8 disc, so I took a stab at recreating it from scripts, prior reel music, and estimating the reel length.

For all but the hardcore, I'd recommend watching the intro and credits from Reel 1, then jump to Reel 5 for the lion hunt which is pretty cool, then 6, 7, and 8 if you don't mind the fabrication of 8. Reels 1 through 4 1/2 are almost entirely Lady Mackenzie's 1915 Heart of Africa, and only for the truly dedicated.

Here are the individual reels:

Here is a playlist for those of strong constitutions:

Hope you like it!

Very belated, but thank you very much for doing this. My wife and I just watched SON OF INGAGI and were curious about its in-name-only predecessor, so it'll be fun to check this out & hope that someday the film itself will become available.

You're quite welcome. Keep your expectations low though, it's reputation was earned in probably less than 5 minutes of screen time.
