Peggy Cummins, Dies at 92

This is posted in today's news on IMDB. I got her autograph in the past few years through the mail. Considering she was in the UK she was quick to respond. I was sad to hear of her passing, but not surprised.

One of the last great "noir" babes. Will definitely be featured in next year's "TCM remembers." Thanks for posting.

Depending on how far one stretches the 'noir' period, how many are left? Although I notice Dorothy Malone is still with us, and sharing her birthday with me to boot!

Is anyone else invited?

Bob
The matter is complicated, and I shall proceed to complicate it still more.

It would be interesting to know more about her feelings about being sacked from Forever Amber (1947). Not very well remembered nowadays (frankly, it's not that great a picture, and probably never could have been under the Code), but it was expected to launch her as a major star. In other circumstances, it may well have done so.

It might've also been interesting to learn more about the life and career of Peggy Cummins. The writer of this obituary seemed to feel that Gun Crazy was her only noteworthy contribution to popular culture.

Yes, she was good with Stanley Holloway in "Meet Mr. Lucifer" (1953). And I thought "Operation X" a decent film. She's noteworthy in it, along with Edward G. Robinson.
