This DVD only set doesn't have the Todd/Pitts shorts. Those are licensed elsewhere.

What it does have are the 21 Todd/Kelly shorts. In a Facebook post, Classic Flix says the upcoming set is also expected to have the 1 Kelly/Shelton short and the 2 Kelly/Roberti shorts.

A tentative release date, according to their Facebook post, is late June/early July.

As for the shorts, Classic Flix says "the elements are the same ones that have been shown on TCM, but we're doing minor restoration work on them."

A pre-order is not available yet but a full announcement is expected soon.

Classic Flix says the initial batch of discs will be pressed but subsequent batches may be MODs.

I'm glad some of the lesser-known Hal Roach comedies are coming available. That studio could do no wrong, in my eyes.

For those still wondering, the Todd/Kelly set will NOT be captioned.

I am crushed with disappointment. ClassicFlix is doing a great job of captioning its films noir, so I was hopeful they would extend the policy to their comedies. Alas, not so. They want us to scream with terror, not with laughter.

Except for Benny Blue in the Taxi Boys.
