I've seen some Film Fun covers where I knew who the actor on the cover was, but it didn't look like the person at all. Call it "artistic license".

That I can agree with. This here was "specially posed by Alice White", but the resemblance isn't exactly "strong".



Ironically, the Slipping Beauty! cover was from February 1935; the Can't Be Beat! one was from October 1929.
