Silent Film T-Shirts

PostSat Feb 18, 2017 8:57 pm

Hello!

I recently started a little venture, scanning boxes, advertisements and other products from the Nitrate Era and a few Home Movie Boxes from the 60s and 70s and putting them on T-shirts and other products. Here's link for the shop: https://www.redbubble.com/people/NitrateNerd/shop?asc=u
More will be added soon, and if anyone has suggestions or has high-quality scans of things of this sort post it on this topic.

Thanks,

Shane

So, you can scan anything and put it on a t shirt for $25 ? or are there limitations?

As long as you don't post a work of some contemporary art and claim it to be yours its allowed. As long as I can fit something in a scanner I can put it on a t-shirt.

Some old lobby card art would work nicely given the shape of the cards onto the shirt. I suppose you run into the same copyright restrictions on lobby cards though.

Redbubble is more concerned about people stealing artists work and taking credit. I only have two lobby cards, a black and white (sepia) card from The General and a full color lobby card of "The Boy With Green Hair".

I will check out your website thanks. Might be interested in an order for a film festival this year.

Thanks,

I still wish I'd picked up more of those terrific silkscreened studio logo tees from the dealer who at them at Cinefest (and presumably elsewhere). I still have my treasured WB Vitaphone and Educational Pictures "The Spice of the Program" shirts, although they're starting to look their age. But then again, so am I.

Some nice ones there! Not quite sure how "Malik is a vegan" fits in, though ;)
