Alma Taylor and Chrissie White starred in about a couple dozen 1-reel comedies 1910-12 for Cecil Hepworth. These hugely popular comedies starred the young actresses as Tilly and Sally in a bunch of tomboy adventures. Only a few seem to survive, but it's easy to see why their knockabout shenanigans were popular. In the genteel Edwardian Age, these relentless pranksters created pandemonium wherever they went. Taylor went on to major stardom with Hepworth in a series of dramatic films while White seems to have retired to marry Henry Edwards. I don't think there was an equivalent team in American films.

Screencap is from Tilly and the Fire Engines (1911).
