"Max Comes Across" (1917) availability

PostFri Apr 14, 2017 1:28 pm

I guess if I have to go to Barcelona or Madrid to get to watch Max Linder's first Essanay film in some archive then so be it, but I thought I'd at least hear with people here -- is MAX COMES ACROSS readily available for viewing anywhere? (I suspect not, sadly.)

Incidentally, am I alone in thinking that MAX WANTS A DIVORCE is pretty good, while MAX IN A TAXI is relatively weak? I've noticed that many viewers tend to think of it as the other way around. Still, TAXI does have some nice gags, of course.

Not readily available, Smari. So, it's Spain or bust. I agree about Max Wants a Divorce and Max in a Taxi. Spot on evaluations. Hope all is going well. Lisa
