Mae Murray in 1950 SCREEN SNAPSHOTS Heartthrobs of Yesterday

PostThu Aug 31, 2017 12:35 pm

This has been on youtube for a year but I just found it and suspect others here would like to see it, Mae Murray appearing and narrating a 1950 SCREEN SNAPSHOTS short from Columbia, "Heart Throbs of Yesterday", recalling the matinee idols of the silent era. Her voice is lovely if affected and she does quite well with her voice overs and considering she was 61 and broke looks pretty good too

Wasn't she purported to say of Gloria Swanson's Norma Desmond, "None of us floozies were that nuts"?

Mae here seems to make Norma seem quite unaffected and sane.
