Holidays a good time for Silent Film Awareness

Do you think the Holidays are a good time for silent film awareness? Do you notice any push in that direction during this time by movie DVD companies, etc.? Seems like more and more during the Fall/Winter I am focusing on vintage things. I think it comes from the fact I try to do most of my Christmas shopping at antique malls.

Halloween in the US is usually pretty good at scaring up (ahem) a screening or two of silent horror films. Frankly, that's how I got into silents a million years ago (Phantom of the Opera, Nosferatu, etc.), although there's no telling with these kids of today if they would bother to indulge in them, what with their rock and roll music, funny haircuts, and not-getting-off-my-lawnitudes.
