Twilight Zone, Season 1, Episode 2, "One for the Angels", air date October 09. 1959.

The one room apartment occupied by Ed Wynn's character has a Murphy bed. It can be seen behind the seated "reaper" character in the attached screen capture.

Edit: Sorry, having problems with attachment because, "board attachment quota has been reached".

Tonight on TCM I saw one in:

1946 - THAT BRENNAN GIRL at about 78 minutes. Republic Pictures.
Mona Freeman spins one around and lowers it from a closet (apparently).
