New and vigorous impulses seem to me to be at work in it,[the cinema] and doubtless before long it will drop all slavish copying of the stage and strike out along fresh paths. -- Sir Herbert Beerbohm Tree
It pains me to say, but from looking at TCM's recent prime time schedule the lineup probably won't be anything good. The best titles are found now in the ghetto of the early morning and the wee hours. I haven't watched prime-time TCM in a long time. I usually return to the stuff I recorded on DVR years ago, when Robert Osborne was host.
(The December Now Playing Guide states that TCM viewers can tune in at 8:00 PM for what they're calling "an exclusive announcement and night of programming." TCM's head of programming, Charlie Tabesh, has reported that the evening of programming on December 13th will be a "total surprise.")

It's this year's selections to the National Film Registry. Includes Wanda & Ace in the Hole.
The documentary on the National Film Registry was fascinating . I was all set to PVR Ace In The Hole at 11:00 until I realized I had it on blu-ray from a Criterion sale and hadn't watched it yet !
I was out of town, but I remembered late after the night of programs was already underway & called my daughter & asked her to record so I could at least see when I returned.

Did they re-run the doc later?
The documentary, These Amazing Shadows, was only scheduled once. You can see the line-up in an image on this page: (near the bottom) http://forums.tcm.com/topic/157940-any- ... th/?page=2" target="_blank" target="_blank
