I haven't. (Scribble, scribble.) Now added to my list. What was the star kissing, a condor?
No, a pigeon-type bird (c. Richie Benaud), I'm guessing a dove; it's the opening sequence of the film; Annette Benson, in a vignetted shot, surrounded by a lowet bough; in her hands the bird, which she kisses Gishlike; the ungrateful avian pecks her, she goes mad, and the shot pulls out to reveal that we are on the set of a ludicrous British-made western....Annette is led away; such is her popularity on-set that the lighting electrician decorates the bird with a cardboard medal.....
It's a fabulous film, the equal of his Cottage on Dartmoor or Underground....though it was actually directed by AV Bramble, Asquith wrote it and I believe learnt his directing during the making of this film.
I could use some digital restoration myself...
