Thanks for your info, Eric. I received and responded to your email. I never received a survey; if you're still looking for replies to it, feel free to send it at your convenience.

Eric,

:) No worries got my copy today! Thanks so much. Plan on watching it this evening or tomorrow. Thanks much! Now what about the prospects of the reconstructed ELLA CINDERS with stills and title-cards filling in for the missing scenes as we have previously contemplated?

I've got material on Ella Cinders and access to other material so we could probably make a very nice HD print.

What will it take?

1) I am about to lose my shirt on Little Orphant Annie, so encourage people to buy it when it's on Amazon. This project went way over time and budget due to the vagaries of Blu-Ray mastering.

2) Enough people who tell me that they'd really like to see Ella Cinders and would either donate to a project or would buy a copy.

Sorry to hear this, Eric. Another reason to avoid Blu-Ray (for me, anyway).....

Hopefully this experience has sorted out any BluRay issues and Eric can proceed with the next project a lot easier.

Everyone wanted Blu-Ray. I can do a second one more easily, because I now understand the procedures better. It's very complicated.

I'm preparing some special extras for the Amazon page of some other projects I've worked on, things that have a limited market but are of some interest to folks here.

These will be given to some Kickstarter backers and eventually will be for sale.

I'm hoping Annie works its way up to at least revenue-neutral so I can start a new project, but I'm tied up through the end of the summer with existing work.

Annie will be available on film and DCP for theatrical engagements.

My copy arrived a few days ago, and I enjoyed watching it last night--looks better than you'd led us to believe, Eric! Thank you for all your hard work. What with the restoration and the quality packaging, you've hit a home run. I hope sales will exceed your expectations, and yes, I'll stand ready to back Ella Cinders or another Moore project.

Thanks. It's not going to be Casablanca, and it cannot ever be at this point. But it's a lot better than it has looked since 1926.

Finally got to watch. Great job by all involved. Only downer for me was the ending which didn't seem to fit the rest of the story or make much sense. But that's just me.

The original script called for Annie to die of sadness at the news of Dave's death, but this was changed before release. This also jibes with Riley's story, in which the ending is the same: Dave dies in the Civil War and Annie can't come to terms with it.

This is discussed somewhat in the commentary tracks, particularly Jeff Codori's.

Thanks for the update. I never listen to commentary tracks.

In any case, congrats again on a well-done project. I've had the Grapevine copy for years but never watched it. Glad I finally did!

I am finally sending out the last Kickstarter thank-yous to all the non-US backers. If you have NOT received your thank-you for backing the project in the next week or two, please let me know and we'll work on it.

No, it's not on Amazon yet. It will be at some point soon.

Yes, it's now available in 4K DCP for theatrical exhibition.

I never thought I'd ever be holding this treasure in my hands, but here it is at long last. I'll be watching it this weekend. Thank you Eric, so very very much. Your efforts mean one hell of a lot to this Colleen Moore fan.

I wish I had been aware of this while the Kickstarter was happening. I will certainly be purchasing this film when it is available on Amazon and will gladly back any future projects on blu-ray. Do you have a newsletter, or is watching this message board the best way to be made aware of updates?

Same here. I feel bad I couldn't contribute. Keep me posted and hopefully I can purchase it as soon as it's available.

This is why I try to get the management around here to make these kickstarters stickies: so the casual Nitratevillain will see them at the top of list.

Here's my 2 cents worth... maybe make a separate thread for current crowd-funding campaigns?

As far as I can tell Little Mickey Grogan is still an open fundraiser - shouldn't it still be pinned?

This will be on Amazon as soon as I can get to it, along with a couple of other things. Thanks for all the supportive comments. It helps, especially since this project went over schedule by epic proportions (mostly because the surviving elements of Annie were a MESS.)

I have more projects coming up as soon as I can finish the ones I currently am working on. I seem to be rather behind.

I don't have a newsletter; there is a group on Facebook that I use to post more frequent updates (www.drfilm.net/facebook). I'm considering doing a newsletter. If you'd like to see one, PM me or post here and I'll consider it if enough people want to see it.

Right now I'm working on finishing the Milan High School basketball games, which was the foundation for the film Hoosiers (1986). It's not a big deal to anyone outside of Indiana, but inside the state, it's legendary. I had to do these, because the film elements were about to decompose, and I was the only one who had the wherewithal to save them.

Little Mickey is still an open fundraiser, and we could sure use the money. I need to do a couple of more passes on the restoration and Jeff Crouse is working on supplemental materials.

I wish I could tell you more but there are problems with this that a little more $ could solve (mostly for lawyers, and my lawyer won't let me discuss it. :( )
