Tweedy fun fact: one of the films on the DVD, "A Scrambled Honeymoon" (1916) contains the "saving the drowning pretty woman and her mother" gag sequence we all know from Chaplin's "The Adventurer" (1917, made a year later).

I backed this, but I'm late to the Perez party, so I just ordered Vol. 1 along with Steve's companion book to prep me for the eventual arrival of Vol. 2 this fall. Always great to explore the work of an unfamiliar silent comedian, especially one I've heard such good things about. Super stoked!

In the feast-or-famine manner of things, the long-awaited dvd was in my mailbox when I came home, ready to compete for my attention with the Charley Chase dvds.

What wonderful complaints!
