I would expect so, the source was The Show-Off and it was remade (again) for Spencer Tracy. They just hacked the Paramount logo off and put on an MGM logo. Pretty much the only old '29-'30 Paramounts besides Marx Bros. films we're ever going to see on TCM is this way, it's also how TCM had One Sunday Afternoon, from a Warner remake. Universal doesn't seem to have much interest in showing old Paramounts or selling them.

I haven't seen TCM in six years. I don't know if it has changed, but considering what it has to offer, I still miss it.

When MGM preserved a picture acquired from another source, it was common for them to attach the Lion trademark at the start. At the same time, they removed the original logo. The original production company can usually be determined by the copyright line in the main title.

The first time I saw the 1931 Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde on tv, it had a lion trademark at the head. Luckily it's been changed back to the Paramount logo in the tv airings and for home video.

I second that.

Wanna see what we get here in the UK?:

Mind you, we're somewhat spoiled this week with a few Rathbone/Bruce numbers here and there.

Poor Baby, you'll just have to wait for another cable channel to run it in color like.............?

Life is full of annoyances ain't it? Like people who post on newsgroups in little tiny fonts.

For the most part, I have no problem with TCM. It's about the only channel I watch regularly.

I have no problem with TCM. They still screen an excellent quota of classic films, and they don't interrupt them with commercials! Their schedule can be a bit repetitive (and a bit restricted) but most viewers who tune into the channel would rather watch Bogart than Wheeler and Woolsey.

I used to reserve my venom for AMC, but their original programming has pushed their movies into the background- and ordinarily that would be bad but a program like MAD MEN makes up for a multitude of sins.

I have eye trouble and used to post in large caps as they were easier for me to see.
But after many complaints from other Nitrateville members, I switched to small fonts.
