"ANG VENGADOR" / 1948 Feature

Nitrate Nation:

Can anyone please advise as to any surviving prints of "ANG VENGADOR", a 1948 Tagalog language feature shot at the same time and using the same director, script, sets and crew as the Eagle-Lion release "SWORD OF THE AVENGER"? With the exception of the lead, Rogelio de la Rosa (who was billed as "Ramon Del Gado" in the U.S. version), an entirely different cast of Filipino actors was used for "ANG VENGADOR". We know of at least one surviving print of "SWORD OF THE AVENGER" -- it's at the BFI. Both films were directed by Sidney Salkow. Many Thanks N-V -- PAUL NAGLE -- [email protected]
