BOOK: The Happiest Trails

PostSun May 07, 2017 10:01 am

While I appreciate that the B western is not among the most popular genres on Nitrateville I noticed the recent flurry of interest in the new BluRay of Roy Rogers' SUNSET IN THE WEST and thought it may be worth mentioning my new book The Happiest Trails which is available from Lulu.com

Below is the publicity blurb put out by the publishers for the book and the 50s Westerns website.

THE HAPPIEST TRAILS

John Brooker writes in his Introduction: "B westerns have always been part of my life. I decided ... to tour the US by Greyhound bus and try and track down some of my childhood heroes." From that and subsequent trips, Brooker began to write books, magazine columns, and even a TV series ("Movie Memories"). This book contains his interviews with the actors and other research on the B westerns. And first time ever - a B western Who's Who including over 1,200 head shots of players in the genre - the heroes, sidekicks, heroines, heavies, sidekicks and the Rest of the Cast. Fully illustrated.
