Dead End (37) - set query

Has the street set in Dead End been used in anything else? I watched this last night (I think for the first time!) and it looked so familiar.

No. It was created very specifically for the demands of the play. Every studio had a New York / Brownstone street on the lot. But the DEAD END set was actually an interior (created inside a sound stage). The story is that Goldwyn was very particular about his films looking beautiful and used to walk around the DEAD END set picking up the garbage that had been so carefully placed by the decorators. Sounds good but...apocryphal?

Thanks. I guess I may have seen it in stills over the years.
