FIRST FEATURE FILM TO INCLUDE THE EMPIRE STATE BUILDING

PostSat Jun 09, 2018 1:51 am

Although the most famous Empire State film is KING KONG, I was interested to see the skyscraper featuring prominently in Frank Borzage's AFTER TOMORROW, the previous year, albeit through models and the sets of James Darling. Are there any earlier appearances, aside from newsreels and documentaries?

FIRST FEATURE FILM TO INCLUDE THE EMPIRE STATE BUILDING

This sort of imdb search result doesn't indicate if the landmark is seen in a film, is alluded to in a film, or is merely mentioned in an imdb summary of a film. But it is at least a start.
It would be difficult to determine how many films the building pops up in via scene-setting stock footage.

I don't know about "first" but Andy Warhol made a film that had the Empire State Building as its one and only star. It lasts eight hours!
