Brazil (1944) is available as a pre-order blu-ray for $12.99, 57% off on Amazon.
On Amazon, get it?
Oh well.
It's actually a dollar less than the DVD, to be released on December 6th.

There are no guarantees that Criterion will have another of their

Even with the postage costs to Canada, it is a huge savings. I just ordered 8 films including the new His Girl Friday and even with the shipping I saved nearly $100!

Still got 4 out-of-print titles on my wish list, or 5 if you include Fassbinder's trilogy which has been OOP forever.

I may have to break down and get a few things. I've been wanting a decent copy of One-Eyed Jacks for *so* long...and I really should have that blu-ray of The Phantom Carriage.

Twilight Time is having a sale on its MGM/UA blu-ray titles, although it's not noted anywhere on the Website. You just have to go through the titles and see which ones have been marked down to $9.95 (for example, Truffaut's Mississippi Mermaid) or $14.95 (like Preminger's Bonjour Tristesse). That's a savings of $15-$20 per title.

I see they're also releasing a blu-ray of How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, which is welcome news since the current MGM DVD is a non-anamorphic mess.

UPDATE: after a bit of searching, I found the sale page. But not all of the price-reduced MGM/UA titles are included on there.

Here's the updated page for Twilight Time's MGM/UA blu-ray sale.

Titles include Exodus, Kings Go Forth, Inherit the Wind, the double feature of Support Your Local Gunfighter/Sheriff, Count Yorga: Vampire, Boxcar Bertha, and many more.

Screen Archives has a bunch of Limited Edition Blu-Ray titles. 3000 pressed, then they are gone unless you want to pay secondary market prices. But I see that one such title that I missed, The Train, is now offered in an "Encore Edition" for somewhat less than the Limited Edition, not to mention the resellers' prices.

Apparently WalMart and Amazon have been having a minor price war on some Criterion blue-rays.
Currently Amazon (US) has Woman of the Year Blu-Ray for $15.98, 60% off:

https://www.amazon.com/Woman-Year-Crite ... 2650305011" target="_blank

That might change before you see this…

But, we have to be careful. For example The Uninvited has a list price of only $29.95.

And it's discounted to $23.96 on Criterion's own website. But still, 40% off (from Amazon) isn't a bad discount.

See also: Gate of Hell, Three Outlaw Samurai, Letter Never Sent and The Ballad of Narayama. It looks like they might be clearing out some titles that were issued in multi-format (DVD + BD) editions.
