1950s Syndicated Music Series

PostSun May 13, 2018 12:51 pm

Celluloid Citizens:
Every four years or so, I re-raise the flag on a nagging show search that haunts me like a ghost. To be more specific,
I am in the hunt for a television music series entitled, "MUSIC OF THE MASTERS", a thirteen-episode show produced in 1949 in Rome by All-Nations Television, which featured Italy's famous Orchestra of the Academy of Santa Cecilia in performance of classical pieces under the baton of Maestro Jacques Rachmilovich. Narration was provided by Milton Cross, better known as "The Voice of The Metropolitan Opera". The series was originally syndicated in the U.S. in 1950 by International News Service (INS) and subsequently by Screen Gems and National Telefilm Associates. I am very interested in knowing if any of the show has survived. Many thanks in advance for any thoughts you might have as to where any of the elusive episodes might be hiding. Cheers -- Paul
