DINTY (1920)

PostWed May 16, 2018 5:53 am

New project at https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/10 ... dinty-1920

This is not a print from Library of Congress. It's from a private source and I've doublechecked with the Dutch EYE and they have waived any claim to the print.

After the beating I took on the last project, I have assurances from the duplicator in this project will be doublechecked and then doublechecked again to ensure there are no disk problems.

I will probably not score this one myself.

I'm also trying a 21-day campaign rather than a 30-day marathon. We shall see.

Howard Hawks was an A.D. on this one!

Yes, he was. From what I could find, Hawks may have directed the "coast guard" scenes. John McDermott directed the "irish" scenes, and Marshall Neiland directed the rest. Neilan also wrote the story and produced through his own production company.

I'm the administrator of the Colleen Moore Facebook page, so I've posted a notice there. This is one film I know very little about.

I'm in, too: the cast list and Neilan make this one very appealing. Plus it's a Larusso project. Plunk down the dough with confidence, friends!

Will back as soon as I can. Are you going to simply translate the titles yourself (or via a translator) or are there existing records for what the original titles said?

Any idea what typeface you will be using?

Any chance of someone finding the original script?

In definitely in - it's on my list of films that my stepmom's grandfather stars in - Pat O'Malley. Not sure how big a role he has. It's tough finding many of his movies.
