Re: New Demolition at historic Pickfair Studios in Hollywood

Most people look at these old buildings just as warehouses forgetting how much of American culture was produced within, they should be historic landmarks. I also wondered why former major league baseball ballparks such as Connie Mack Stadium in Philadelphia (razed -1978) Forbes Field in Pittsburgh (...

There is an interview online somewhere of Anthony Slide with Blanche Sweet in her New York Apartment during the last couple of years of her life. Apparently he took blanche to some retrospectives of her silent film years at the Metropolitan Museum in NYC. I do remember him saying that Blanche had ru...

I find it funny when someone like her is known throughout the country due to her performances and scandals and then fast foraward years later an old woman spends her last days in a nursing unknown to everybody but herself.

Gladys Hulette had a long life (1896-1991) and was in the silent film era from (1908-1933) Too bad there isn't any videos with her telling her story during those years.

Lillian Gish onced mentioned that her and her sister Dorothy Gish were going to buy the land at a prime corner in Beverly Hills but had a change of mind and instead went to buy dresses instead. Miss Gish did die wealthy in New York City though.

I think i read that Madge Bellamy lived in her mansion and lived very frugally with her mom for years when she wasnt making money anymore, she then sold her home in the early 1980s during the Los Angeles real estate boom . She said she made more money on her home than she did in her entire career. S...

Colleen seemed to do well in talkies i think she saw that the studios were putting in their new stars and system and she would have been on the way out anyhow being in her late 30s. She was wealthy anyway.
