Re: Many European-Created Silent Feature Films Now Online Gratis.

The issue is always the task of creating subtitles for these films. Having done that myself, in both Spanish and English, from languages that I don't command I can say I am grateful for these movies to be available online and for free. Some of these films have emerged from either Europe or Argentina...

Re: SELECTIVE SUBTITLING

YouTube did generate Russian subtitles that took me awhile to download. Once I got them, I translated as best as possible since I don't understand the language. Did you try using YouTube's own, built-in auto-translate feature? In my experience the results usually are utterly bizarre word salad, :lo...

Re: THE IRON HORSE (1924) BD coming from Twilight Time (11/20/18)

I remember seeing this one years ago on AMC and enjoying it. I look forward to seeing it again. I procrastinated forever on the Ford at Fox Silent set so with this coming to BD I can't imagine that's worth getting now. The DVD version is mediocre. They removed all of the Karl Malkames tints (who is...

The ensemble is "Cuarteto Los Porteñitos" featuring Santos Lípesker (bandoneon), Roberto Guisado (violin), Ubaldo de Lio and Héctor Davis (guitars). This ensemble's discography starts in 1958 for Philips, where Lípesker was its musical director. He also anonymously fronted or conducted different mus...

Ford F-350 (1960)

Having seen many Ford commercials that JWT produced around the same time or later in different languages, this one is by far one of the greatest of all times. YouTube did not put a copyright claim, which I actually wanted because I am unable to identify the name of the milonga that it is performed n...

Mabel Normand... correct still position

Awhile ago, I rescued this image of Mabel Normand from a Brazilian microfilm. The quality is poor and I tried to improve the visual quality anyway since I found no alternate version anywhere else. http://i.pinimg.com/originals/78/a1/3b/78a13b0e5866fb1b07a2f6b761447f7e.jpg Then, a few days ago I was ...

Unidentified Fox-Sunshine stills published in 1922

These still for Fox-Sunshine comedies that are unidentified were published in 1922 in A SCENA MUDA. One of the stills was reversed but I corrected it so the code can be read and the last one is from an Al St. John film. http://i.pinimg.com/originals/68/10/b9/6810b930337da9c0e5c701b2683c0c74.jpg http...

Unidentified Fox-Sunshine stills published in 1921

All of these stills were published in A SCENA MUDA in 1921, their initial year. I excluded from this presentation a few from SKIRTS which I placed in a thread for that film. I don't know if some of these are from that film as well or not. However, the final one seems to actually feature Joe Roberts ...

In the Portuguese descriptions Bynunsky Hymen and I suppose that Clyde Cook are referred to living versions of cartoon characters Mutt and Jeff.

Tommie as I go through your list of titles, one screams familiarity at me immediately. "Roaring Lions at Work" (1924). Jimmie Adams made a series of films beginning at least in 1917 (his first listed film in the IMDb) that are "Roaring Lions" titles: "Roaring Lions and Wedding Bells" (1917), "Hungr...
