Special one-day "Cinevent" event 11/10

Haven't seen this posted here, and held off because I didn't want to step on anyone's toes. That said, if you're in Columbus, OH on 11/10 and looking for something fun to do...why not spend it doing the same thing you do on Memorial Day weekend in Columbus?

Loving the Classics is the one that has the whole thread about it (unless there are two).

classicmoviesdvd.com will be back once the convention cycle winds down, according to the site owner (who is not me).

Re: YOU MUST REMEMBER THIS podcast returns - Fact-Checking A

Why would anyone with disdain for Lon Chaney Jr. do podcasts about Universal horror? I completely agree. That said, I am enjoying this series (the Karloff/Lugosi series was really the only one I didn't like and I REALLY didn't like it). The Manson series in particular was extremely good. The truth ...

Re: Blondie (1957) - TV Series on Blu-Ray Kickstarter Projec

This is for the TV series, not the films, so "original titles" are not relevant at this time. That said, the original titles that AMC used were actually taken from nitrate prints, and put onto the syndication prints. If the nitrate still exists 25+ years later, who's to say? I do hope this project h...

Re: Cinevent - Columbus, Oh. Film Schedule Announced

Yeah, I find this kind of negativity disheartening. Downtown Columbus is extraordinarily easy to navigate, and parking is quite reasonable (I parked a block away from the hotel and only paid $5). The hotel is quite nice. Let's be fair, the Ramada that was used for many years was NOT a nice suburban ...

Enthusiasm is infectious, and so is a sense of fun. If you approach the films that way, kids will have fun. If it's framed as a chore, or a lecture, they won't. Formats change, but the desire to have a good story told to you does not.

I'm glad they are releasing their own fine quality DVDs---but at those prices would not buy them. I buy from Amazon where I get free shipping and good low prices. Of course, you realize that Amazon carries the Classicflix releases at less than the SRP. For example, He Walked By Night is $32.50 righ...

"Daffy Duck in Hollywood" probably got the biggest laughs (from my friend Rodney) which made it all the more enjoyable. I love those old cartoons set in and around Hollywood with lots of movie star caricatures. This fits that bill nicely and although I'd seen it before, it was better with an audien...

I've used Classicflix for a few years now. I've had issues in the past, but I never felt they were dishonest people, just overwhelmed.

The last six months or so, it's been just fine.

I've been getting super fast service from them over the last month or so. Usually takes 3 days for them to get the disc back, and I get a new one about 3 days later.

There was some odd markings on the envelope (black marks across the barcode that the postal machines use) so it's very possible that it took the long route to my home.

This does seem to happen frequently though.

See if this sounds suspicious to you: On 3/23, I get notification that they're shipping me a title (Lonesome). On 4/1, I e-mail them and explain that the title never showed up.
