Re: 3-D Film Archive

On October 14, 2014, we released our first 3-D title on Blu-ray: DRAGONFLY SQUADRON. Over these past four years, we have established a winning formula for rescuing vintage 3-D films and have proudly restored fourteen vintage titles for Blu-ray release. Working with microscopic budgets, we have broug...

Re: SANGAREE in 3-D!

On the average, we can restore a vintage 3-D feature in three months. SANGAREE was on the operating table for five months and proved to be - by far - our most challenging color restoration to date. Thanks to the magnificent color restoration by Greg Kintz and Jack Theakston - plus the meticulous dir...

Re: SANGAREE in 3-D!

William Pine and William Thomas - The "Dollar Bills" - were known for their action pictures and SANGAREE is no exception. On Friday, February 13, 1953, extra James Cornell was "painfully burned" when a flaming log jumped out-of-control during a brutal fight scene. That shot can be seen in the film a...

Re: REVENGE OF THE CREATURE on 3-D Blu-ray!

Sorry I missed you and thank you so much for coming to the show.

The sold-out crowd loved it and I received many complements after the screening on the restoration. Let's hope for some good news very soon from NBCUniversal on this issue with the 3-D Blu-ray.

The raw scans for SANGAREE are in from FotoKem and – as expected – there are variable levels of color fade on the 35mm elements. The multitude of dupe negative opticals (fades, dissolves, etc.) are the most severe. This was the first 3-D feature to be photographed on Eastmancolor negative film 5248 ...
