Re: Buster Keaton Short Films Collection (1917-1923)

I have both sets.

Of the two, I prefer the Eureka.

Of Course, YMMV.

Re: Just When You Thought You Couldn't Feel Much Older

You apparently didn't watch the clip.

Garry Moore says on the clip that Mr. Seymour smoked a pipe and so they gave him some pipe tobacco instead of the Winston cigarettes.

Now, Let me tell you about Fleetwood Lindley;

Re: KING OF KINGS Restoration Trailer

Having bit the bullet and ordered this one from Amazon.Fr, ....

I must say it was worth the wait.

Both features look very impressive on Blu ray and the bonus material is a real treat.

Having done the deed, I fully expect an announcement of a domestic release any time now.

Re: THE BIRTH OF A NATION BD, May 22.

This one is region free, tinted and I would not have included such a biased, damning review on the back cover art.

Try to find the release from The Roan Group:

Perhaps Retromedia will get around to a Blu ray release....

Nothing has been "colorized", that's original Technicolor.

Never knew that the torches in Gethesmane were colored as well.

Looking forward to an eventual US BD release of this one.

Re: KING OF KINGS Restoration Trailer

KING OF KINGS was mentioned as an unfinished project of David Shepard in one of the obituaries posted online after he passed on.

So I think the chances are good we'll see this from Flicker Alley in the near future.

RE: SHOW BOAT(1936);

Does anyone know why this title was not restored by Universal for their 100th Anniversary ?

The Warner Archive DVD is nice but it could have made for an impressive Blu ray.
