New book on Pandora's Box

Unread post by Silent London » Fri Sep 22, 2017 10:03 am

Hello! I hope it's OK if I pop in to plug something silent-related that I have been working on.

My book on Pandora's Box (1929) will be published later this year. It's in the BFI Film Classics series, if you know those, and I really enjoyed writing about this wonderful film. You can pre-order the book now from Amazon etc and I'll be introducing the film at a few 35mm screenings around the UK from November on. Details of those events will be updated on https://silentlondon.co.uk/

I'm pretty sure it's OK. Folks plug silent film books and restorations here all the time. Besides, with a brace of flintlocks at your disposal it's doubtful that the surliest knave will give you any grief.

Checked out your website & Amazon link. Looking forward to publication. Congrats, Pam!

Of course it is acceptable to plug books, documentaries and screenings about classic films. If we didn't allow these kinds of posts, there wouldn't be nearly as much to talk about here!

Congratulations Pamela, I'm looking forward to reading it. I also recommend folks read your Pordenone rundown, great stuff. It felt like I was there!

I'm another one who has the book on pre-order.
