ENCHANTMENT (1921) coming to Blu-ray

Unread post by drednm » Thu Mar 08, 2018 3:08 pm

Looks like Grapevine will be releasing my old Enchantment project on Blu-ray in April. They've gone back to the original LOC files, so it should be an excellent print and it still has Donald Sosin's terrific score.

That's wonderful.
The score in my opinion will compliment the flow of the film. Will they add any extras to it, that you know of? or is it very premature to inquire about these issues?

Nevertheless, your effort is being rewarded in more ways than one, we...here at Nitrateville and perhaps, somewhere in the World other Silent Film Aficionados will be thanking you as we do here.

I'm not involved in any way. I don't think they added any extras to DUCKS AND DRAKES, but I'm not sure.

I think you're entitled to some proprietorial pleasure. Well done!

I get my name on the packaging. I don't have blu-ray so I have not seen their final product. I imagine bu-ray is quite expensive to produce so maybe they keep their costs down by not adding an extra......

Not a problem. I approached them. I just wanted the films to have another life and distribution outside of the limited Kickstarters.

I missed out on Ed's offering of this, so it's good to hear that Grapevine will be releasing it.

Blu-ray-R is not too much more than DVD-R. Replicated Blu-ray is what's got the big price tag.
