Buster Keaton's Italian Villa For Sale

I'm not suggesting anyone here has the $7.3m to buy it - but it's worth looking at this article just to see the interior, which the current owners wouldn't let anyone photograph when they allowed the LA Conservancy to hold a fundraiser there a few years ago:

That's not the Italian Villa, because it's in Beverly HIlls, and it has a round staircase, not one that is straight. And the entrance to the Italian villa is a long driveway to a circular entrance, not something straight off the street. From my post, you can see what the front door looks like.

Here's the front entrance again in a story from KNBC.

This must be the house he and Natalie lived in before they built the Villa.

Is this the house where James Mason found Keaton's films in a hidden room in the pool house?

Not the house from the LA Times article, which is in Hancock Park, but he did find the films in a shed, not a pool house, at the Italian Villa in Beverly Hills which is still there, I saw it when I toured the house in 2012. The Italian Villa is the one seen in the KNBC story and the blog post from The Daily MIrror.

CurbedLA took photos during the 2012 tour, and it shows the shed in the backyard where Mason found the films, which is now just used as a storage shed.

Does anybody know who was living in the Italian Villa in about 1981-82? My old man and I once took a drive past the entrance driveway to it back then, meeting some man in a car who was just driving out and my father engaged him in conversation regarding the estate's history. Asked who was the current owner, the driver sheepishly responded he "wasn't at liberty to say" ...
