A program of films from the "Accidentally Preserved" DVD series will screen on Jan 15 at the annual "Slapstick" festival in Bristol, UK. The program will be introduced by Bill Oddie ("The Goodies") and Robin Hill, and will be accompanied by Gunter Buchwald. (I'll be stuck in NYC playing for "deliberately preserved" silent comedies next month).
Silent London just posted this article/interview about the program and my endeavors in tracking down rare slapstick on 16mm.
The program at the festival will screen:
- A BATHTUB ELOPEMENT (1916) - Marcel Perez
- A CITRATE SPECIAL (19??)
- PAPA’S BOY (1927) — Lloyd Hamilton
- THE LOST LAUGH (1928) - Wallace Lupino
- WHOSE BABY? (1929) - Arthur Lake
