The Berklee Silent Film Orchestra, an acclaimed group of 17 film composers and instrumentalists from Berklee College of Music, will host a special performance at the Boston Conservatory Theater on Saturday, January 20 at 7:30 p.m. They will perform their original score for the 1925 Sergei Eisenstein film Battleship Potemkin, a cinematic epic of marital oppression and revolution. Tickets for the performance will be between $25-$35, and are currently on sale on the Berklee website.

The BSFO will open the program two new scores for never-before-seen restorations of short films The Rosary and Suspense (both 1913). Both titles are among the mere 20 surviving films by pioneering female writer/director Lois Weber, one of the most important and prolific auteurs of the silent era.
