A message Nic sent to the Century Center Cinema list:

"hi all,
Due to a threat of copyright infringement, Century Center Cinema will not be able to show the Charlie Chaplin film "The gold rush" this saturday night. "The gold rush" is in the public domain in the United States, but the Roy export company, located in Liechtenstein, is disputing that and threatening a law suit.

Since we do not have appropriate time to respond to this claim, we are not showing the film. In its place will be the Buster Keaton classic "Sherlock, Jr." also from 1925. Erich Lieth wil be at the piano for
what will be another great night of classic silent cinema.

I apologize to all of us Chaplin fans, but this is truly out of our control.

I hope to still see all of you sat. at 7!

Thanks,
nic"
