KEN DODD (1927-2018)

A very big name indeed on the British stage and on television (particularly in the 1960s), Dodd was seemingly never sold on the idea of retirement and was a major stage attraction until recently. It does seem that audience requirements would include a strong bladder / bowel muscles and a relaxed attitude as to when the show would finish. He even had a film credit, in the 1996 HAMLET, as Yorick!

This is sad, sad news indeed. It seemed "Doddy" would go on forever. I am though glad that he received his well-deserved knighthood (only a year or so back) before he was cast off from this mortal coil. In an ever increasingly mad world, we need people like Sir Ken and he will be greatly missed.
Requiescat in pace.
