Dorothy Malone has died

Two sisters taken by polio as children, a brother killed by lightning.

It was here she began to interest us ... vaguely
- in a perfectly staged and played scene.

With Jerry and Jack at the Oscars.

I met Malone briefly in NYC in 1983. She was very gracious and pleasant to talk to.

First Peggy Cummins and now Dorothy Malone, two of my absolute favorites from the fiddies. That book shop scene from The Big Sleep is pretty much number one on my Sexiest Scenes Ever Filmed list.

I hope both are enjoying the next plane, they've got it coming.

Beautiful Irish-American daughter of Robert Ignatius Maloney. When she went blonde, more like Dandelion Yellow, she became a stunner.

She always seemed more knowing than actually bad, and even once played a saint, Edith Stein, on the 1960's television show, Insight.

Her childhood was marred by several tragedies, and I was touched to see her Oscar acceptance speech and hear her say, "I would like to accept this award in the name of my late little brother, Bill." May she rest in peace.
"This bar of likker is now a bar of justice!"
