These columns are turning into an obituary fest!

Sad news indeed.

I found him oddly appealing, as bad as his acting was.

Really hard to picture him as a 90-year-old. He was one of those guys who looks permanently age 36 or so, even with grey hair.

It's difficult to believe he was mortal.

His voice, his face, his body - it was if one of the gang on Mount Olympus was taking a sojourn with us. In the 70's he had a "Back from Death" experience after a skiing accident. His heart was impaled by a metal rod. Later, he said that during it he had such fantastic feelings and insights that he realized that his life on earth was nothing more than time in a dirty little bus station on the way to a beautiful destination.

He's reached that beautiful place he once briefly experienced. God bless him.

Hard to believe that his TV movies Killdozer and Snowbeast terrified me as an adolescent, but they did.

OK, maybe not so much the latter one, I caught it a few years later as a teen on a TV matinee movie program and found it pretty laughable, but Killdozer still has its charms.

The obit got it wrong when it said Walker made a Christmas album, but he did record a version of Silver Bells for the WB Records collection We Wish You a Merry Christmas which featured stars from the studio's TV series warbling Christmas carols to varying degrees of success. Includes Connie Stevens, Dorothy Provine, Robert Conrad, Ed "Kookie" Byrnes, Efram Zimbalist Jr. and .... Roger Moore?

Still need to keep a lookout for his actual album, made up of patriotic and inspirational songs, and western ballads.
