help ID Ben Turpin still

Here's a still of Ben Turpin and Heinie Conklin from a Mack Sennett Comedy. Any one know what short it's from?

Gloria,

This is actually a posed fan photo that was probably taken during the making of one of their early 1919 comedies (When Love is Blind; or The Foolish Age; or No Mother to Guide Him). Charlie "Heine" Conklin was billed as Charlie Lynn at this time until Chester Conklin soon left the Sennett factory. Charlie then returned to his original Conklin moniker.

I actually use the same still on page 178 in my Ben Turpin biography, For Art's Sake, a great book if I don't say so myself! :-)

Thank you Steve. I figured it was a posed shot but wasn't sure. It's a terrific pose and really like this particular still.

One thing about this still, there's snow on the fence and floor on the back ground. This could narrow it down to a particular short, perhaps?

Again thanks.

Had to pull out my magnifying glass for that one, Gloria!
Doesn't look like snow on the fence, more like eggshells or paintchips.
I'm thinking maybe they're supposed to be flower petals(?).
And the background on my photo is too soft focus to say it's snow.

Having looked thru my stills, the closest match in costume to your photo is from the Chester Conklin/Louise Fazenda short, The Foolish Age, 1919.
That film was actually only a Turpin/Lynn cameo, just a walk-on.
Also in production at the same time under the Sennett roof was Ben and Heine's starring short When Love Is Blind. Have to say Ben is wearing the same suit, pants and tie, but my one and only still from this film doesn't fully disclose Heines clothes. (Try saying that five times!)

Here's a link to my scene from The Foolish Age. Makes you want to burst out singing...

(and laughing because I can't post this durn photo!)

Gloria, here's a better scan of the Ben Turpin and Heine Conklin picket fence still:

Maybe you or the Nitrateville riot squad readers can use another one? :-)
And be sure to check out all the other great stuff this seller is letting go!

Steve ;-)

Steve, one of the moderators helped post the still from my scan. It's the best I can do. The image is too large, I have no way of shrinking it.
As long as we can get a general idea of the year it was taken 1919 or 1920, that's already good information and I appreciate the help.

Also if you look on the floor behind them you can see those snow flakes, rose peddles, paint chips or who knows what they are on the floor.

Gloria: Does the name Pasquale Ventura ring a bell?
What are the chances of two different people finding the same original rare still at Cinecon? :-)

Well, anything's possibull.
