State Theatre Sydney Orchestra 1934

Unread post by Donald Binks » Fri Jan 05, 2018 4:20 pm

As you can tell I have a fascination for old cinemas. I am lucky too because I have two films of cinema orchestras. The above is a still from a film of 1934 put out by Cinesound a part of which featured Hamilton Webber conducting the State Theatre Sydney's orchestra. (The organist is Manny Aarons).

It's not a particularly good colouring, but at least it makes it that much more interesting than old black and white. :D

(If I ever won the Lotto (eyes look heavenwards) I would pay to get the film coloured!)
