Two kissing scenes (SOLVED)

Unread post by kelomat » Sun Mar 25, 2018 5:15 am

Please help me in identifying and take a look at the screenshots in my blog posting about the silent movie clips in Under pressure by Queen & David Bowie.

Here are some great new related screenshots I found a few days ago (There are some more on the blog!):

--- MOVIE FOUND: --- Man and woman look at the moon and then kiss, she has second thoughts afterwards:

--- MOVIE FOUND: --- Man in uniform returns from the French foreign legion (?), appears in his girlfriend's cellar bar, she's over the moon and kisses him all over the face.

The gentleman in the first looks a little like William boyd. The woman in the second is Pola Negri.

Thank you! It is Pola Negri! I had ruled her out until now as I thought her nose was bigger than seen here.
What a charming performance she gave there!

The film is 'Shadows of Paris' (1924) and she's kissing Charles de Roquefort.
This poster shows the reunion scene.

Shadows of Paris is a lost film, but scenes from it appear in the Paramount short Fashions in Love (1936), which is probably where these shots came from.

Thanks, missdupont! You were right about William Boyd, too.
The clip is from 'The Yankee Clipper' (1927) and features William Boyd and Elinor Fair.
