Where is Allan Dwan's East Side, West Side (1927)?

Unread post by 2 Reel » Sun Jun 18, 2017 4:00 pm

If you answer that it's on the east side or the west side, I may drop my hat on your foot. This 1927 silent film by Alan Dwan has been shown during the last five years or so at various festivals and events so far from me that I would have had to travel by rail, boat, and plane to get to them. Does anyone know if it's available for viewing online or in any other known format? I'd even be willing to drag our old 8mm projector down from the attic if that's the only format it's available in. Any clues, Nitratevillians?

Yes, I think MOMA has the only extant copy of the film.

I saw it there in a private screening. And I have it on DVD! (filmed from her seat at a screening by a morally challenged but technologically advanced friend)
